The Crow and the Pitcher

The Crow and the Pitcher

Once upon a time, in a hot and dry forest, lived a thirsty crow. The scorching sun had dried up all the water sources, and the poor crow had been searching for water all day long. He was tired and parched, and his beak was dry from thirst.

As the crow flew over the forest, he suddenly spotted a pitcher lying near a deserted cottage. Filled with hope, the crow flew down to the pitcher and peered inside. To his disappointment, there was only a little water at the bottom of the pitcher, and his beak couldn’t reach it.

The crow felt sad but refused to give up. He looked around, trying to think of a way to reach the water. His eyes fell on some small pebbles lying on the ground. An idea struck him.

The clever crow picked up one pebble with his beak and dropped it into the pitcher. He picked up another pebble and dropped it in as well. Slowly, he kept adding pebble after pebble into the pitcher. With each pebble, the water level in the pitcher rose a little higher.

The crow continued this process patiently. Finally, after adding many pebbles, the water level rose high enough for the crow to reach it with his beak. He happily drank the cool, refreshing water and quenched his thirst.

Feeling satisfied and relieved, the crow flew away, grateful for his clever idea and persistence.

Moral of the story: Where there is a will, there is a way.
